My track coach used to recommend eating half a banana for breakfast on tough workout days

Bananas are such a great idea! I wish I could eat them. In case anyone else has the problem, the spasms and twitches seem to have resolved. I started drinking an additional liter of water. I also add a packet of pruvit mitoplex electrolytes to one of them because I found it in the pantry and because it has decent potassium.

Be sure to do lots of stretching before you start to warm up the muscles.

Lakota, I think dried apricots are good for potassium as well.
Glad your issues are resolved! -

I make protein shakes with banana and plenty of electrolytes and liquids. Also: stretching is a life saver. If you think you're doing enough, no you're not. Stretch for at least 5 minutes before any strenuous activity.

Hakfetty, thank you so much for responding. I still get a little twitchy, so I will try the apricots.

Only Kai, I will do more stretching and report back. The problem is my left quad, left hip flexor, and left lower back. All these areas are connected. I do a lot of yoga, but yoga tends to be hamstring focused. Thanks for your advice.
